Here is an update of my Neo-Soviet photos. I painted most of these around the time FASA was shutting down so keep in mind the paint jobs are a bit old and some aren't 100% up to my current abilities and standards. Painting VOR minis really taught me allot and I learned allot of techniques with them. Critiques are welcome just remember, that some are about 6-8 years old. The Newest Additions (things I've added since 2.0 was announced): My completed Irontusk: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Vanguard Rocket Launchers: ![]() ![]() Vanguard HMGs: ![]() ![]() I upgraded my Red URSA to include a magnetic attachment for a swichable Gustav Cannon or Tempest Mortar: ![]() ![]() The Cyclops Squad: ![]() Mutant Handler & Rad hounds: ![]() ![]() Neo-Soviet Officer(Ral Partha Europe) ![]() ![]() My Kommander has been given the privilege of his own suit of Powered Armor, and a Rad Baton! ![]() ![]() Alpha-1(production details here: viewtopic.php?f=16&t=660) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Kommander Ivan Gorstov (Proxy). I can't call this a conversion because it really is a stand in and doesn't accurately represent the character(to my standards).

Wow! Simply said I believe that is the best painted or converted Neo-Soviet army I've seen ever. Very, very well done. |

Dude, that is sick! I love it. It's official, you and I are going to meld our armies together one of these days at a HUGE Golden Growler Union Stomp. I'm adding some 'wires' to my I.T.2.0 and he's getting painted starting tomorrow. |

Dude! Awesome job there! I'd LOVE to get my ass kicked by your mini's lol I love the green Ursa too! BTW, can we get some details on the magnet mod? I used a screw + bolt for mine in the past. Does the magnet hold really well? I'm wondering if it would hold the two Ares halves together well? Where did you get the magnets? |

Yeah, here are basically the magnets I use: http://www.kjmagnetics.com/proddetail.asp?prod=D21 You can get them from that website or I bought them from Ebay with the exact specifications. Those magnets hold really well. 1 little one will hold a good sized piece of paper to a fridge(something even most fridge magnets won't do). They are a amazingly strong for their size. This is who I ordered from and they sell 50 for under $10 with shipping: http://cgi.ebay.com/50-Neodymium-Magnet ... dZViewItem I just drilled a hole into the sockets of each weapon and drilled out the top part of the shoulder pin on the URSA. I left the bottom part of the shoulder pin to add support for the magnet so as to not totally rely on the glue holding the magnet. Remember to figure out the poles on the magnets before gluing them in, or you could cause allot of problems after the glue sets and you find out the poles are opposing. Surf through that seller on ebay or the website link for magnets of all shapes and sizes. If they are similar to the little ones I got then you should be able to find ones that can hold two halves of an Ares together. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ THANKS!!! To everyone for all your kind words on my army. I love it and I'm glad the paint jobs have held up over time and I didn't have to strip and redo! It appears I left out the Cyclops pic so I've added it to the second post, enjoy! |
